Welcome to the Financial Review of Books!

Welcome to The Financial Review of Books!

I started the Financial Review of Books in May 2011 with the hope of providing a one-stop website that would provide concise, provocative, and timely reviews of new books of interest to persons working in banking, consulting, financial services, and public policy.   As the title of the website suggests, the emphasis will be on books that offer an original and sophisticated approach to problems in contemporary finance, broadly construed.    This includes myriad topics such as banking, credit unions, hedge funds, housing and mortgage finance, insurance regulation, and securities regulation.   There will be a particular emphasis on authors whose works analyze and discuss the financial crisis of 2007-09.

Although the Financial Review of Books is a non-partisan publication, you may notice that there is an implicit center-right bias in my reviews.  That said, “center-right” represents a broad spectrum of opinion.  My intention is to be fair to all authors whose work I review, regardless of where they may fall on the ideological divide.

I hope you find your experience on this website to be an educational and an enlightening one.   My first review will be up soon. The journey begins now.
